BraunAbility has relaunched its “Save My Spot” campaign to raise awareness about the inappropriate use of parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities.
“Save My Spot” is aimed directly at educating the general population about the correct use of striped spaces next to handicap parking spots, meant to allow people with mobility aids to safely enter and exit their side-entry vehicles without having to deal with the traffic of the parking lot.
According to a poll conducted by the wheelchair accessible vehicles manufacturer, 57% of respondents don’t know what the striped spaces next to a handicap parking spot stand for. Taking this into consideration Braunability has relaunched this campaign as part of the National Mobility Awareness Month.
The goal then is to protect these areas through the distribution of free Save My Spot kits containing parking “tickets” explaining an abuser’s infraction, stickers for user’s vehicle doors remarking why the extra space is needed and other BraunAbility gear, available at the company’s dealership locations throughout the month of may.
